I went to the doctor this morning about the nausea and fever. It was such an informal process compared to going to the doctor at home. One of the professors has been ill, too, so it was nice to have a translator along with me. We walked into a hospital in the neighborhood and walked out 30 minutes later.
The interior was clean but worn. The nurses on duty wore traditional British uniforms with white stockings and white caps. The nurses are called 'sisters' even though they aren't nuns.
The doctor saw me right away. He said I have a mild infection that's causing the problems and prescribed an anti-viral medication and some vitamins. He said no juice, no fruit, no bread and no dairy... so that means rice and yogurt for the next 5 days. It will be sad to miss out on all the food...
The visit cost around $6 and the three medications about $3. This really reminded me of going to the doctor in France.

We will pray for a speedy and complete recovery for you. Isn't yogurt dairy? M :-)
